In coming months, you will hear about a name change to our DundeeWealth business. We wanted to be the first to make the announcement.

On November 1, 2013 the DundeeWealth Advisor network, owned by Scotiabank, will adopt a new name: HollisWealth. We have worked with many of our clients through previous such changes. As in the past, we want to assure you that your investments, financial plans, and our relationship will remain unaffected.

DundeeWealth was acquired by Scotiabank in 2011, and at that time The Bank of Nova Scotia and Dundee Corporation entered into several agreements regarding the trademarks used by the businesses. One of these agreements licensed the use of the DundeeWealth brand name to the Bank. This license expires on February 1, 2014.

Scotiabank’s first head office building was constructed in 1837 at 188 Hollis Street in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The reference to "Hollis" in our new name is a reference to the Bank’s history, while the term “Wealth” identifies our core business.

As portfolio managers and independent advisors, we will continue to have maximum flexibility to choose the right financial products and services for you from across the industry, including those offered by Scotiabank and by our network of specialists. In fact, our relationship with the Bank has given us access to many quality services and capabilities, including enhanced research, estate planning, trust and banking services.

So what’s next? Simple. There is nothing you need to do at this time.

As always, we thank you for your trust and will continue to do our very best to help you improve your own financial situation.

Have a wonderful summer!
